Higher rates, fewer jets
A presidential threat to shut Bombardier out of the U.S., $20 billion of Canadian tariffs, and the first Fed rate rise since 2023 all landed inside ten days. None of it slowed the aircraft that are actually trading: August pre-owned sales ran 12% ahead of last year and the best large-cabin jets are clearing in under three months. What changed is the cost of waiting — and October, with NBAA-BACE and another Fed meeting, will show whether that holds.
