October market update 13 October 2026

A quiet quarter, a crowded finish

Pre-owned sales cooled in the third quarter, running about 11% below last year, and large-cabin jets accounted for most of the gap. It looks like a pause, not a retreat: the twelve-month trend is still up, owners are holding their prices, and the best large-cabin aircraft still sell faster than anything else. With eleven weeks to the year-end deadline, buyers who want a 2026 closing should be under contract in the first half of November.

Common questions

Buying or selling an aircraft.

What is an exclusive listing?

An aircraft TPJC represents directly on behalf of its owner — pricing, condition and negotiation handled with a single point of contact rather than through multiple brokers.

What does "off-market" mean?

For sale, but never publicly listed. Many owners prefer discretion — and after twenty years in this market, TPJC frequently hears about aircraft before they are listed.

How much does a private jet cost?

Pre-owned light jets typically $2–10 million; midsize and super-midsize $4–18 million; long-range large-cabin $10–70 million or more, depending on age, condition, pedigree and hours.

Do you help first-time buyers?

Yes — from identifying the right aircraft for the mission through negotiation, pre-purchase inspection, and proven legal, tax, escrow and management specialists at closing.
